Mountains-to-Sea Trail

February 10, 2017-February 10, 2018

I finished the trail!

Hiking the MST has been one of the most amazing journeys of my life! I started February 10, 2017 at the Outer Banks, with the intentions of thru hiking the trail and finishing in June, by my 50th birthday. It didn’t exactly happen that way, but it did happen, just the way it was supposed. I finished February 10, 2018. It was so much more than I ever could have hoped for. I sectioned hiked the trail just about every way possible. I backpacked, camped, day hiked, kayaked 208 miles in 8 days, road a bike on some road sections, and slept in some very nice hotel rooms when my Mom shuttled me. I questioned my ability every time I started out, but every time I made it, by taking the first step, then the second. My courage and belief in myself increased with every challenge I faced, and every mile I hiked. I have received so many gifts from this journey; lessons, love, challenges, transformation, healing, clarity, vision, strength, courage, etc. I can’t list them all here, but the most priceless gifts from this journey are the quality time spent hiking with family and friends, and all the new friends I made along the way. Sole Sisters for Life, Priceless! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who has hiked, laughed, cried, encouraged, and supported me on this journey. It has been an amazing gift!

Water of Nature

One can flow harmoniously with the River -
or one can struggle fearfully against the River -
and the River just flows.
